Bahaa Talis Biography Bahaa Talis studied management in the modern academy and worked in a variety of fine arts. He always found management skills necessary and useful when working in the field of arts. Talis started his artistic career doing photography and sculpture, later he moved on to interact with experimental Theater, Modern dance, video arts, and the Cairo underground art scene in general. The experience he gained from this rich scene gave him the chance to join the famous television channel OTV. There Talis worked at writing, creating promos, directing, producing promos and programs, adding an important element which is the professionalism in each element of the project. He worked with different professionals, and interacted and exchanged on a professional level. He is now combining these experiences in his filmmaking. From 2010 he started producing and directing his own projects. He directed Kobba Gardens Boat (35 min documentary between Cairo and Copenhagen, raising issues of Local Councils in Egypt in a film). In terms of producing he implemented some projects from France, Belgium and Denmark. Talis is one of the founders of the film festival Corto Del Med in Avignon , France which brought films from Egypt to Avignon for the first time ever, working with Alter Med Association for arts. The festival also included films from the Mediterranean area. He is also a member of the Europe-MENA Cultural Exchange Association that creates and promotes interdisciplinary, transnational projects in various contemporary art genres: visual and performing arts including theater and dance, film and cinema, and music and literature. In Egypt he created the TV program Felkadr, a weekly program featuring a short film and a filmmaker. With the presence of one of the cinema professional celebrities, the program became a channel between the upground and the underground cinema scenes. As Darb 1718 was an important spot for gathering filmmakers, he participated in creating the cinema alforn project that is offering a platform and space for Egyptian filmmakers to screen their works. .
