A young art student from Switzerland arrives for six months in Tel Aviv. Through drawing he will learn to analyse, understand and free himself to this contrasted environnement.

In the first sequence, you can recognise a pencil and my shaking hands. As an introduction, I wanted to show some classic spots of Tel Aviv such as street views, dogs and buildings. More and more, parts of my autobiographic character become visible. The hand takes the pencil and the sequences become more and more focused and intimated. Other protagonists like religious people, soldiers, night clubbers, street cleaner, cats and dogs appear and melt together in a subtle abstract comparison. Suddenly gunshots detonate in the city! A wedding ceremony takes place. I celebrate, dance and enjoy. After those sequences, I want to show an unglamorous side of the city by showing my main character and a homeless person looking for a paper support to make a painting in a waste bin. The last scene takes place at the ‘Ben Guirion’ airport where Israeli soldiers open the suitcase of my main character. The baggage is filled with drawings. Only the city skyline is visible and you can hear an airplane.
