I AM Cervignano Film Festival

CERVIGNANOFILMfESTIVAL - The cinema of the border and the limit was born from an idea of the Centro Giovanile di Cultura e Ricreazione Ricreatorio San Michele and Piero Tomaselli, from the desire to support the youth creativity with the intent to enhance, promote and spread the less famous formats of audiovisual products like forms of art from a social and cultural point of view, focusing on the theme on the hybrid languages on the edge between fiction and documentary, on the border between codified, commercial, “mainstream” and experimenting cinema.

Why choose the theme “of the border and the limit”? Our region, Friuli Venezia Giulia is, by definition, a borderland and a crossroad of peoples and cultures. In particular Cervignano del Friuli, the town in which the event will be held, has been the last outpost of the Hapsburg until 1915 (the river Ausa marked the dividing line between Austria and Italy). These observations suggested us to explore the themes of the limit and the border through the filter of a film festival. It will try to collect the best short films and documentaries realized by young film directors about this topic. Moreover, next to the competition, there will be a film exhibition about the cinema of the border, with meetings, seminars and workshops.

THERE ARE TWO INTERNATIONAL SECTIONS:
a) Main contest dedicated to documentaries (report, reportage, historical documentary,
scientific documentary, etc…) and fiction short movies.
b) VR - international contest to cinema in Virtual Reality. .
